What exactly is the difference between the Wacom STU-540 and the STU-540-CH2?
The STU-540 is the hardware-only signature pad. The Wacom STU-540-CH2 is a bundled set that adds a full Wacom Sign Pro PDF software licence in the same box. If you buy the pad alone, you will still need to purchase compatible e-signature software separately before you can start signing PDF documents. The CH2 bundle eliminates that step — and the extra cost.

What is the difference between the STU-430 and the STU-540?
The STU-430 has a smaller 4.5″ monochrome display and is ideal for basic signature capture, while the STU-540 features a larger 5″ color screen, higher performance, and better support for enterprise and high-volume environments.
Does the Wacom STU-540 or Sign Pro PDF support Arabic?
The STU-540 hardware works normally on any Arabic-language Windows installation — signing, display, and encryption are unaffected by OS language. However, the Sign Pro PDF software interface is not available in Arabic; it runs in English (or other supported European/Asian languages). Arabic text within PDF documents is displayed and signed correctly — it is only the software UI itself that is English-only. For organisations needing a fully Arabic software UI, third-party e-signature platforms with Wacom SDK integration may be more suitable.
Does the Wacom STU-540 store my customers’ signatures on the device?
No. Wacom signature pads are deliberately designed with zero on-device data storage. Once a signature is captured, it is instantly transferred to the PC and embedded in the signed document. Nothing remains on the pad itself. This architecture is a key reason Wacom is trusted by banks and government bodies across the Middle East — there is no risk of biometric data being extracted from a lost or stolen device.
Will the STU-540-CH2 work in our Citrix or virtual desktop environment?
Yes. The STU-540 has native Citrix certification (XenDesktop 7.6 and later) in standard USB HID mode. For older Citrix 6.5 deployments, VCP (Virtual COM Port) mode is supported. It is one of the very few signature pads that covers both legacy and modern virtualised environments — a significant advantage for large GCC enterprises with mixed IT estates.
Are electronic signatures captured with the STU-540 legally valid in the Middle East?
Yes. In the UAE, electronic signatures are legally recognised under Federal Decree Law No. 46 of 2021. Their validity depends on security, authentication, and the type of transaction. Some documents may still require handwritten signatures, so legal advice is recommended for critical use cases.
