Wacom Cintiq Pro 32 (DTH3220) 4K Pen Display

The Cintiq Pro 32 exists for work that cannot be done small: full-frame concept paintings, film and animation review, and any pipeline where the artist needs the whole shot on screen at 4K while drawing directly onto it. The active drawing area is 697 x 392 mm, which is close to a sheet of A1 paper.

The panel is the other half of the argument. 98% Adobe RGB coverage and 1.07 billion displayable colours at 10-bit mean the display can be trusted for colour-critical work rather than only for drawing. The etched glass surface gives a tactile drag under the nib and keeps parallax minimal, so the mark lands where the pen is.

Wacom Pro Pen 2 is included: battery-free, 8,192 pressure levels and 60 degrees of tilt. Multi-touch works directly on the glass, and the supplied ExpressKey Remote puts 17 customisable keys and a Touch Ring wherever the free hand happens to be.

Planning the Installation

At 13 kg and 854 x 506 mm, this is a display to plan around rather than put on a desk and see how it goes. Wacom made two dedicated mounting accessories for it: the Ergo Stand (ACK62802K), which raises, tilts and rotates the display on the desk, and the Flex Arm (ACK62803K), which clamps to the desk edge and swings it clear. The VESA Mount (ACK62804K) opens it up to third-party arms rated for the weight.

Where It Sits in the Range

The Cintiq Pro 32 is the previous flagship generation. In the current range, the Cintiq Pro 27 (DTH271) is the largest model, with Wacom Pro Pen 3, DCI-P3 98% coverage and a 596 x 335 mm active area. The 32 remains the larger physical canvas; the 27 is the newer panel and pen.
